David Thompson spent more than two decades inside some of the most complex, high-stakes technology environments in the country – managing infrastructure portfolios exceeding $40M annually, leading disaster recovery operations for enterprise organizations, and building the kind of process discipline that keeps large systems running under real-world pressure.
Before founding KnightByrd, David served in senior director and program roles across healthcare, retail and financial services – including enterprise-scale work supporting Delhaize America (ADUSA) and healthcare system deployments for Novant Health and Catholic Health Partners. He holds certifications in ITIL 4/Strategic Leader, CISSP and many more. He has managed teams of 40+ across direct staff and third-party vendors.
KnightByrd was built on what David learned in those environments: complicated systems create real disadvantages for the people operating outside of them. The mission has always been to close that gap – with clear information, structured processes, and platforms built for durability.
When people are given clear information and a structured path forward, better outcomes follow.
Today, KnightByrd applies that mindset to two complementary areas:
We help property owners make sense of confusing assessment systems, identify potential issues, and approach next steps with confidence instead of uncertainty.
We build and operate focused digital properties designed to deliver practical, trustworthy guidance at the exact moment people are searching for answers. Everything we build—services, content, and digital assets—is designed for durability, transparency, and long-term value. KnightByrd is intentionally structured to scale, adapt, and operate independently across multiple properties and partnerships. At its core, KnightByrd exists to make complicated things easier, fairer, and more transparent for customers, partners, and the communities we serve.
KnightByrd operates as a digital holding and operating company, not a one-off project. Our portfolio is structured for long-term operation, partnership, or acquisition.
